Crane Electronics calibration centres provide dedicated torque calibration services for our entire range of torque tools, equipment and systems. Our torque calibration capabilities give our customers peace of mind that all torque calibrations are confirmed and traceable to or approved by third-party accreditation, such as UKAS or NIST.
We are able to provide reference or calibration for torque ranges from 0.1Nm all the way up to 28,000Nm, for our own and other brand torque equipment. For higher calibrations, we can provide torque ranges up to 165,000 Nm at our external facilities.
Our calibration coverage varies by torque range, with the type of certification depending on the equipment and the service centre you’re working with.
Up to 5,000Nm: Accredited calibration for Crane equipment: UKAS-accredited to ISO 17025 in the UK, NIST-traceable and PJLA-accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 in the US. Standard in-house Crane calibration is also available at this range. Germany covers this range with standard Crane (in-house) calibration.
5,000Nm to 28,000Nm (UK) / 5,000Nm to 18,000Nm (US): In-house reference or calibration certification, covering Crane, Industrial Measurements (our former brand for higher-torque ranges, now part of the Crane range) and other brand torque equipment, carried out at our own on-site calibration laboratories.
28,000Nm – 165,000Nm (UK): For higher torque equipment, we can arrange calibration through specialist external facilities. Get in touch with us to discuss your bespoke requirements and we can discuss the options available for your equipment.
Angle Certification: Available for rotary torque transducers in the UK and US, with capability varying by site:
Our torque calibration certificates ensure full traceability of all significant measurements and are performed on the same site and in the same calibration laboratory.
Certificates typically report results across five measurement points between 10% and 100% of the transducer’s rated torque. Customers can also specify their own requirements — calibration of the transducer and indicator does not have to be performed as a single unit.
The importance of calibration for torque measurement equipment can never be underestimated. Torque wrenches, transducers and data collectors are used across industries including automotive and aerospace, where product quality and end-user safety depend on tools delivering and measuring the correct torque, verified through regular testing.
Our equipment is used in critical assembly and quality control applications by manufacturers, both for testing and verifying the torque applied by assembly power and hand tools, and for measuring the actual torque applied to critical fasteners during and after the assembly process.
Regular calibration keeps torque equipment accurate and within its required tolerances, so it continually provides consistent, reliable results, helping to ensure safety, quality and precision in every torque measurement.
