Service & Calibration

As the manufacturer of your torque tools, no one is better placed to keep them accurate than we are. From our three service and calibration centres in the UK, US and Germany, Crane Electronics provides torque and angle calibration, service and repair for torque ranges from 0.1Nm through to 165,000Nm.

Whether you need a routine annual recalibration, a full service and repair or support for higher torque or bespoke applications, our teams work to return your equipment ‘as new’, fully calibrated, tested and ready to go back into production.

Our Service Centres

Our offices in the UK, US and Germany each have their own accredited service and calibration centres. Our experienced team of experts provide technical advice, high-quality support and a dedicated service to our customers and distributors.

UK (Hinckley, Leicestershire): UKAS-accredited calibration to ISO 17025, ISO 9001 & 14001 registered. 1Nm to 5,000Nm (Crane) and 5,000Nm to 28,000Nm (Crane, Industrial Measurements and other brands).

USA (Milan, Illinois): PJLA-accredited calibration to ISO/IEC 17025:2017, ISO 9001 registered, NIST traceable. 1Nm to 2,500Nm (Crane) and in-house calibration up to 18,000 Nm (Crane, Industrial Measurements).

Germany (Plüderhausen): Crane standard calibration, servicing, repairs and technical support. 1Nm to 5,000Nm, with higher-torque options available on request. Currently working towards UKAS-equivalent accreditation.

Torque Calibration

Torque calibration requirements vary hugely depending on the equipment and the torque range involved, so does the type of certification behind it. Here’s our current calibration offering;

Up to 5,000Nm: UKAS-accredited calibration to ISO 17025 (UK) or PJLA-accredited calibration to ISO/IEC 17025, NIST traceable (USA) for Crane equipment, plus standard in-house Crane calibration options.

5,000Nm to 28,000Nm (UK) / 5,000Nm to 18,000Nm (USA): In-house reference or calibration certification for Crane, Industrial Measurements and other brand torque equipment.

Up to 165,000Nm: Available through external calibration facilities for very high-torque applications. Get in touch with us to discuss your requirements.

Service & Repair

Backed by high-specification torque testing equipment and a full stock of genuine OEM spare parts, our engineers can restore your tools and systems to ‘as new’ condition, with the same high accuracy and performance as the day they left our factory, including any applicable software updates.
