Crane Electronics unveils the WrenchStar Multi Plus, with enhanced durability and connectivity for demanding assembly environments
Crane Electronics is proud to announce the launch of the WrenchStar Multi Plus, the latest advancement in digital torque wrench technology, engineered to deliver exceptional precision, durability and connectivity for modern manufacturing environments.
Building on the proven success of the WrenchStar Multi platform, the WrenchStar Multi Plus has been specifically designed to meet the needs of assembly and quality teams operating in harsh and demanding conditions. With an IP54 rating for protection against water, dust and oil ingress, and independently drop tested to 2.3 metres, the new wrench offers a robust solution for environments where reliability is critical.
Speaking about the release, Sean Gynane, Sales Director of Crane Electronics said:
“The WrenchStar Multi Plus represents a significant step forward for customers who need both precision and resilience in their torque management tools,”
“We’ve taken everything that made the original WrenchStar Multi so successful and enhanced it to perform in even the toughest environments, without compromising on accuracy or usability.”
Delivering high torque measurement, the WrenchStar Multi Plus allows users to achieve consistent, repeatable fastening results. Its point-of-load insensitive design allows torque to be applied from any position on the handle, reducing operator influence and improving overall process control.
The wrench features a clear OLED display, complemented by a highly visible 360° light ring, vibration feedback and audible alerts, ensuring operators receive immediate confirmation of fastening outcomes. Interchangeable ‘Auto-ID’ wrench heads provide automatic length compensation, allowing quick adaptation between tasks and helping to streamline operations on the production line.
A key enhancement of the WrenchStar Multi Plus is its flexible connectivity. Available with RF, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi communication, the wrench can integrate seamlessly with TorqueStar Pro and IQVu torque data collectors, the TCI-2 lineside controller, existing MES systems and a wide range of third-party software. It also pairs with mobile solutions such as the Crane Smart Connect app, enabling efficient data capture, transfer and full traceability.
Sean added:
“Connectivity and data integration are becoming increasingly important in modern manufacturing. With the WrenchStar Multi Plus, we’re giving our customers the flexibility to connect in the way that best suits their environment, whether that’s through RF on the line, Wi-Fi into MES systems or Bluetooth for mobile applications.”
Designed with productivity in mind, the WrenchStar Multi Plus includes a rechargeable, quick-change battery system, reducing downtime during extended use. A charging cradle is supplied as standard, with a USB-C charging version also available.
Suitable for a wide range of industries including automotive, aerospace, construction and defence, the wrench is also available in FOD-compliant versions for use in safety-critical and clean assembly environments. Operating across temperatures from -20°C to +50°C and capable of storing up to 200 readings offline, it ensures reliable performance wherever it is deployed.

Sean concludes:
“The WrenchStar Multi Plus is about giving our customers confidence – confidence in their tools, their data and their processes. It’s a powerful, flexible solution that supports both quality assurance and production efficiency.”
The WrenchStar Multi Plus is available in multiple torque ranges from 10Nm to 650Nm, providing a versatile solution for a broad range of fastening applications.
