Crane Electronics are able to help customers obtain the appropriate calibration evidence for their required level of confidence. The company’s on-site laboratories have a range of supported beams, enabling the company to provide reference or torque calibration ranging from 0.1Nm – 2500Nm, realised from first principles and traceable to National and International standards.
Crane Electronics Ltd. laboratory’s accreditation of its competence to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 means that customers can purchase calibration certificates headed with the UKAS and ILAC accreditation marks. The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is a widely recognised authority for the accreditation of competence and is one of the signatories to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation for the mutual recognition of calibration certificates. The measurements reported in these calibration certificates are all performed according to the BS 7882:2017 – Method for Calibration and Classification of Torque Measuring Devices.
Not all of our customers insist on the BS 7882:2017 calibration method and its UKAS headed certificate. Those purchasing certificates with the Crane Electronics Ltd heading are assured of full traceability of all significant measurements with these being performed on the same site and in the same calibration laboratory. These certificates typically list the results for ten measurements between 10% and 100% of the transducers rated torque – they do not require the calibration of the transducer and indicator as one unit.
Crane Electronics Inc. also offer a fully accredited calibration laboratory providing accredited and torque and angle calibrations, being ISO 9001:2015 registered and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited. Calibrations are also NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) traceable.

Our TF, TFC and TFD series of rotary torque couplings have been rigorously tested and are certified to ATEX standards. These torque transducers meet the necessary safety standards for use in environments where explosive atmospheres may exist. By undergoing detailed testing, the TF series are safe for operation in Zone 2 or CSA Class 1 Division 2 locations with explosive risks, such as those containing flammable gases, mists, vapours or combustible dust.
With the ATEX certification our TF, TFC and TFD series are compliant and reliable in hazardous environments. This certification guarantees that these products are safe from becoming an ignition source in areas where explosive substances are present, providing peace of mind and ensuring worker safety in compliance with EU regulations.
