TMAC Opta is based on Crane's platform and not only offers a wide choice of torque input devices, but also enables the connection of torque measurement stations within a factory to the company's network.

The TMAC Opta is a versatile unit for use with all transducerised, automatic shut-off or electrically shut-off tools. Control may be based on torque only, torque and angle, duration or impulse count.

TMAC allows one tool to be used for several different joint specifications or parameter sets, without manual adjustment to the tool. Control may be specified by dual parameters, resulting in greatly increased confidence in joint quality than is possible with torque alone.

Each joint is tested against preset joint parameters and the result is shown on the easy-read display with simultaneous display of all relevant information. The torque and cycle time, or angle are displayed as the joint is tightened.

Correct set-up enables TMAC to detect oversized bolts, stripped threads and degradation of tool performance. It is also possible to set-up TMAC Opta to ignore the initial high torques encountered when using self-tapping screws.

As the software and interface is common throughout the product family, users familiar with the TorqueStar Opta , DTT Opta or ProWrench Opta will easily be able to use TMAC Opta.

Flexible software and the optional interface modules enable you to tailor a system to your own tool types and requirements.

To centralise the control of a large number of tools and store comprehensive data for on-line quality control and future reference, TMAC Opta can be linked to Control Opta. This is Crane's web-enabled torque measurement system. Unlike other torque measurement systems available on the market, Control is an "open" system that can work with existing IT systems based on Oracle or SQL. There is also the option to link TMAC directly into a company's network without Control Opta.

TMAC can also be used as a Wireless Tool Control System.
